Why Bother?
It can seem impossible to make a difference to a global emergency. But there are good reasons to bother to reduce our individual carbon footprint:
First, you can help slow down climate change and know you have done your bit. You can answer the question when your children or grandchildren ask, “What did you do to get to net zero?”
Second, it will save you money in the long run. Many of the things we do cost money, such as driving a car and using electricity. By making small changes you can save money on your bills.
Third, it will improve your health. Air pollution and over-use of antibiotics can have a negative impact on your health. So, when we reduce burning fossil fuels and using toxic chemicals, we can help to improve air quality and protect our health.
And you can set a good example. Which may inspire others to join in creating a more sustainable world.
