Wiltshire and Swindon Tree Warden Scheme – official launch
The official launch of the Wiltshire & Swindon Tree Warden scheme in association with The Tree Council will be held at County Hall Trowbridge on Tuesday 19 September at 5:30pm – 6pm. The Tree Warden scheme will officially be launched by Cllr Tamara Reay portfolio Holder for Climate Change. You are welcome to join us for the launch, whether you are already signed up to be a tree warden or would like further information before you join. Please let us know if you intend to join us by requesting a Tree Warden launch ticket.
The Induction Training for Tree Wardens will start at 6:15pm with light refreshments provided. If you or anyone in your community are interested in becoming a Tree Warden we encourage people to register their interest by emailing the Grant Application and Planting Support (GAPS) Team at GAPS@wiltshire.gov.uk.
Tree Wardens will work under the auspices of their local Town or Parish Council with the GAPS Team providing support with training, co-ordination, and advice. The role of a Tree Warden is to promote the enhancement of existing trees and woodlands as well as facilitating the planting of new trees and woodlands across Wiltshire for the benefit of people, nature and to help mitigate climate change.
