We have been offered the exciting opportunity to manage an unused plot of land in the centre of Bremhill. Mark Kyte is the current owner and wishes to see it cleared of brambles and then developed as a community facility.
The land is a fifth of an acre (approximately 15 x 50 metres) and lies next to the Lodowicks open space where the fireworks are held.
We are consulting with the village on how to use this generous opportunity. So far, we have had many wonderful suggestions (listed below) and you may have other ideas. If you have ideas then either ask for a questionnaire or e mail direct to derek1chase@outlook.com
The survey asks the following:
1. How would like to see the land used? Please rank the following in order of preference, with '1' being your favourite choice. Also add any other ideas you have.
a. Orchard trees such as apples, pears and nuts
b. Wildflower areas
c. Orchard with wildflowers in between the fruit trees
d. Traditional indigenous trees
e. A plant nursery for native tree saplings for community use
f. A seating area by the brook
g. Anything else – please specify …………………………….

2. To help us consider what saplings we might grow for village use we’d also like to know what the village ‘stock’ already is. What fruit trees do you have in your garden? (name and number)

3. Finally would you be willing to be involved in this community facility
- at the initial clearance weekend. Probably in the autumn 2025? Yes No
- as part of a future maintenance team? Yes No
All feedback very welcome either in writing (on this form - leave in box in the village hall), or by e mail or by phone or in person. Closing date for consultation 31st May. Thank you.
